Our partners at iManage have discovered a bug affecting some Outlook 2010 users and causing related issues within DeskSite and FileSite. If your office uses Outlook 2010, we advise checking for the below Windows Updates and, if present, removing them until a new update is published.

The following Microsoft Outlook 2010 issues have been reported:

  • Email attachments are lost or missing from sent emails.
  • Content from one attachment is duplicated in another.

The reported issues are caused by Outlook 2010 update KB3055041, released by Microsoft on August 11, and Outlook 2010 update KB3085522, released by Microsoft on September 8. Uninstall instructions can be found at the above links.

DeskSite and FileSite users have reported a related issue:

  • When a user selects a number of documents and performs the right-click Send Document command on an Outlook message, the documents attach to an email. However, when viewing one of the sent attachments in the sent message, Outlook displays the content of a different attachment.

We recommend that our clients who use Microsoft Outlook 2010 uninstall updates (KB3055041 and KB3085522) until a fix is available.
