Amazon has continued issuing updates to their AWS WorkSpaces client on workstations and thin clients that result in instability for users. We have received a number of reports from clients experiencing a variety of performance issues upon installing the latest AWS WorkSpaces client update over the weekend. This includes Windows and Mac operating systems.
The AWS WorkSpaces client will prompt a user to update the client upon opening. Please advise your employees to decline the update to AWS WorkSpaces. If these updates have already been installed and a user is experiencing issues, you must remove the AWS WorkSpaces client completely and then install an older, more stable version.
The release versions we have identified issues with are 3.0, 3.0.2 and 3.0.4. We have identified version 220.127.116.113 as the most stable build for users.
We have provided information to our engineers to quickly restore users who have installed this update, but we need your help in letting your employees know to decline the update.
Thank you, and please continue to be safe during this trying time.
