On July 9, 2019, Microsoft will officially retire their SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 operating systems. Failure to migrate places your data at greater risk of loss with no support from Microsoft.
If you haven’t already migrated or planned your migration, it’s key that you contact your IT managed service provider to begin laying the groundwork for your migration now. July is fast approaching. If you wait, you may find that many MSPs are booked-up, leaving you little option but to do the migration yourself or put it off until later, the latter of which isn’t an option for those in regulated industries.
Have you migrated? Do you have a plan?
